He replaced Ben Costello in May 1996. A dedicated fan before joining, he once got a signed setlist framed for his girlfriend; Costello personally taught him the songs. During his audition, lead singer Jason rejected "Lindsay" as "not punk rock." The moniker "The Doctor" evolved from "Dr. Lindeman's" (a cask wine TV ad reference) to its current form.
